Staying Home With Yourself
Hi Amazies!
What a strange few weeks right? How is it going with living in the parasympathetic nervous system? Are you adjusting to your strange new life?

It has been something of a ride hasn't it? Almost like a thriller novel where the government is trying to extinguish rebel movements quietly right before the truth comes out. In fact have you ever read "Star Of Deliverance" by Mandy Madson Voisin? Fantastic book based on the story of Esther and right along the lines of what we are facing now, but you know, with ball gowns and princes and a total lack of isolation. 10/10 stars. I LOVE that book. It's on Kindle, it's also on amazon which is wonderful since it's still available when bookstores are closed.
Speaking of reading have you read the untitled prose poem by Kitty O'Meara yet? It's gone viral recently and I for one love it. She wrote this near the beginning of March after deciding to do some writing in place of stewing and fretting over a situation that as a retired nurse, she could no longer help with. This is what she wrote,
"And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed." - Kitty O'Meara
Think about this friends, Broadway is shut down, concerts are closed- the creatives are all on lockdown. What do you think they are doing? Creating! I have hope that this period of stillness will end with some amazing talent being displayed to the world. Maybe even things the like of which we haven't seen in centuries. You might even be one of the people to create it!
What a blessing for people to have the time to heal. The time to expand and grow.
The line "Some met their shadows." touched me deeply. I believe that this is the reason so many people fear being alone. So many of us are scared to be with their thoughts. Scared of what regrets, of what dreams, of anything that might come bubbling up when they are finally alone with their shadows. Some for the first time in years.
The crazy thing is that is where healing begins. That alone time with your thoughts is vital if you want to heal and become the woman (or man) you want to be. Eventually everyone must face themselves. The sooner you do, the quicker you can soar.
Grab a pen and some paper. Sit down in a peaceful place. Breathe deeply, relax, let your energy flow. Welcome any thoughts and emotions that rise to the surface.
Acknowledge them. Love them. Hear them out. Some of them have been waiting for years to be heard. You do the laundry often. How long has it been since you cleaned out your mind?
Look through your thoughts. Which ones serve you? Which do not? Clean them and sort them and throw them away.
If you are still stuck with feelings that you are imperfect. That you are not enough. That you are unworthy. That someone is better than you. That you do not have the opportunities that other people do. It's time to burn those thoughts. They no longer serve you. They aren't even suitable for the rag bin. Let them go.
You are whole.
You are enough.
You will create your own opportunities.
You are a creation of divinity.
You are loved.
Choose to change. It is high time you got some lovely new thoughts to clothe your mind with. You deserve it.
You are worth it.
Now listen to the tiny little voices that you've probably been brushing aside for a long time. The one whispering about what you would like to do "if". Now is the time Amazies! Get creative about it. Let it happen. Believe you can do it, start creating ways to do it and let the universe help you through it.
That little voice inside would not have stayed through so much silencing if she did not know you have the potential to do it. She believes you can do it. She believes that with encouragement you will do it. She knows how important this is to you. Listen to your soul on this one, not your panicky brain. Let your inner-self rule. It is time.
You know, another bonus of staying at home with yourself is that you find out what you are good at, and what you enjoy doing.
What directions does your heart pull you when there aren't any external influences left?
Whether it is much needed self-care, finding more about your families history, or learning a new skill I can promise you, you are being pulled that direction for a reason.
That pull is your higher self whispering to you to BE. To become, to benefit, to believe, to begin.
Did you know that the word "home" can be defined as a place where you are loved, respected and cared for? Somewhere you can live, laugh and learn?
What a blessing it is to be at home with yourself!
I truly believe that learning to be at home with oneself is one of the secrets of living life to the fullest.
How can one be happy, and truly find joy in the everyday if they do not love, respect and care for themselves?
We are so willing to offer care, help and patience to others. Let's be quick to offer ourselves the care we give to others.
Please be patient with yourself. Change is an ongoing process.
Day by day, let us become better. Little by little we will achieve the heights we aspire too, whatever those may be for you.
And please remember,
"Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, "I'll try again tomorrow.""
Breathe deeply, have a wonderful week, you can do this. You are worth it. I believe in you.
